Blackbird (David Stone Publication)



                

"David Stone has published Blackbird for close to a quarter of a century. He believes in a multicoloured palette and enlarging one's vision of the world. The submitted work reflects those preferences. Blackbird is international in scope where one can find poetry, fiction, drawings, photography, collage, and an occasional manifesto. In a world where so many publications look and read the same, it's refreshing that Blackbird has not fallen to homogenisation. It continues to take risks, offer surprises, and as a result contributes to enhancing the readers awareness of multiple art forms". 



  Contributions are as different as countries represented, but one characteristic ties everything together - this is GOOD STUFF - so many different approaches tied together in a beautiful surprise. Published by Cyberwit, a generous and professional publishing company both David Stone and I have dealt with before, David Chirot is remembered:

Sadly, even the word ‘definition’ has become outmoded, outdated and apparently ‘limiting’. To produce and produce in any and every situation with any and every means possible, without any foundation and very little purpose – except to produce – well, that’s just the way it goes – it seems.    Not  to say the word-images one views are not immediately appealing, but in the long term, where is  the  ‘Mona Lisa’ or ‘The Great Wave’ or ‘Earthrise’ in the visual-word world
